Hard House is really kicking off in the
UK at the moment so its nice when you get a CD from the States that
is as fresh as you would expect from over here. Morgan first started mixing soon
after attending the early San Francisco underground parties in
1992. Inspired by what
he saw and heard, Morgan quickly picked up his first pair of
turntables in 1993. His
early influences came from the original Funky Tekno Tribe parties,
by watching such DJs as DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, and Graeme. Over the next few years he
spent much of his time learning the art of mixing, phrasing, and
programming. The CD is technically brilliant and the tunes read
like a book of Hard House. You can tell that a lot of effort has
been put into the CD. “I put a lot of time and energy
into creating each set.
Ensuring that it will be my best to date. Something that will make the
listener not only appreciate the track selection but the actual
mixing as well. I want
to convey a message, a thought or idea that stays with you well
after the set has ended.” Morgan has certainly opened the eyes
of us lot at Music-Mag who thought that only the UK was at the
cutting edge in this type of music.
